West Virginia Flag

Some information I know about West Virginia is I believe the state was admitted or ratified to the United States around or about 'June 20, 1863'.  West Virginia is located around latitude '39' and longitude of '-80.5' and has a population of roughly '1,793,716 million'.  If I remember correctly the capital is 'Charleston' and the largest city is 'Charleston'.

My first experience in the furniture industry was with companies in High Point, NC USA which sold products to the public.  From networking to software development to websites I was there to assist.

Case Study

ScanOnline hired me to manage manufacturing and government software development for small clients to large clients like the FBI and Executive Offices of the Whitehouse.  NTI Solutions was a subsidiary of ScanOnline selling QuarterMaster software at the time for asset management.  Many federal agencies used Quartermaster to manage checkout of assets whereas the Whitehouse utilized it to manage furniture for events.

"Eddie had respect and faith in his developers to perform their jobs with the best of their abilities.  Eddie was always willing to offer his assistance and had an excellent rapport with the companys customer base.  He was always available to answer any questions or help with any issues that would arise.  His management style was unique in that he let developers have a sense of control."

History of the High Point Furniture Market

Founded in 1909 in High Point, N.C., the High Point Market was formed to provide the region's furniture makers and retailers with a convenient venue to conduct business.  Originally known as the Southern Furniture Market, it established itself as a significant fixture in the American home furnishings industry in 1921 with the completion of the Southern Furniture Exposition Building.  Riding a roller coaster of economic boom and bust through the 1920s and '30s, and actually put on hold during World War II when its Exposition Building was placed in service to the U.S.  Army, the High Point Market began its rise to prominence in the early post-war years.

If at any point you decide to reach to me just know the area codes I am familiar with for West Virginia are '304, 681'.  For Furniture assistance you will find my rates very reasonable for West Virginia.  Now just keep in mind my time zone is 'Eastern Standard Time (EST)' and I know the time zones in West Virginia are 'Eastern Standard Time (EST)' in case you wish to call me.  Anyway let me continue.

From the late 1940s through the 1980s, the Southern Market grew and expanded until it became, as its founding generation had intended, the furniture capital of the world.  Welcoming guests from more than 100 countries, it was renamed the International Home Furnishings Market in 1989.

As of 2015 the High Point Furniture Market has grown to encompass more than 10 million square feet of exhibit space and to serve an average of 80,000 attendees each spring and fall.  In 2007, the Market recognized a tradition that dates back to the 1920s by officially changing its name to The High Point Market.

You know, I don't make it out to West Virginia much but I would like to see the 'Cardinal' state bird.  I am a little familiar with the West Virginia 'Rhododendron' state flower as well.  However, I do not know much about West Virginia's state tree the 'Sugar Maple'.  Fishing is fun to me perhaps I would like reeling in the West Virginia 'Brook Trout' state fish.  Anyway, sorry I went off topic.  Let me continue.

Today, the home furnishings industry is far different from the small, regionalized sector of the economy it was 100 years ago.  However, the entrepreneurial spirit that built the High Point Market, combined with a commitment to excellence and determination to meet and overcome all challenges, continues to drive the Market forward as it embarks on another century of innovation.
